Clara Mae Peters
5/16/1923 - 7/7/2019

Clara Mae Peters of Springville, NY passed away at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home on July 7, 2019 at the age of 96.

She was born on May 16, 1923 in Chicago, IL to the late Fred and Clara (Schoening) Louden.

She is survived by her daughter - Susan (late Donald) Wright of Springville; her grandchildren: Paul Wright of Polo, IL, Melissa (Phil) Kish of Randolph, NY, Jack Wright of Springville and Mary and Sarah Peters both of Hamburg; also survived by her great-grandchildren: Patrick and Laura Wright of Polo, IL and Morgan and Evan Kish of Randolph.

Her beloved husband, Harry Peters, who she married on February 11, 1942, passed away in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her son - Lawrence (late Pam) Peters; her siblings: Fred Louden, Jr., Kay Morello and Lois Grugel.

Clara Mae and Harry were high school sweethearts. They moved to Springville when Harry was ill in order to be close to his grandchildren - he died a year later, 43 years ago. It was good that Clara Mae was here. Springville was a town full of widows. Clara Mae and her friends went on trips, out to eat and to special events. She was active in the First United Methodist Church in Springville as well as the Bertrand-Chaffee Women's Association. She worked in the gift shop at the hospital and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

If you met Clara Mae, you would of remembered her. She was one-of-a-kind. Now she's in Heaven and Heaven will never be the same.

There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Springville at 10 AM where Rev. Matthew French will officiate. Interment will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Springville.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 474 E. Main St., Springville, NY 14141 or to the Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital, 224 E. Main St., Springville, NY 14141.
