Shirley A. Hare, of Springville-Boston Rd., Springville, died Thursday October 18, 2018 at her home at the age of 89.

She was born March 20, 1929 in Colden, New York a daughter of the late Frank and Florence (nee Rickettson) Allen. She was a homemaker.

Her husband Richard R. Hare whom she married December 27, 1947 in Boston, New York died December 14, 2015.

She is survived by her children - Bonnie (Gordon) Smith of East Concord, Lois Benz of Springville, Elaine (James) Hallett of Springville, Sue (Geoffrey) Winter of Eden, Richard A. Hare of Springville; seven grandchildren - Gordie (Kris) Smith, Heather (Shawn) Pennington, Cathie (Steve) Nason, Cindy Benz (Bill), Shellie (Terry) Eagan, Gary (Betsy) Meyers, Melvin Hallett (Marlee) and eight great-grandchildren - Tanya & T.J. Eagan, Ari & Lexi Smith, Mattie & Natalie Pennington, Carly & Ben Nason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son-in-law - Michael Benz.

There are no calling hours. A private celebration of Shirley's life will be held at the convenience of the family.
