Kenneth L. Ploetz, of Dowd Rd., Springville, died Sunday May 27, 2018 in Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville at the age of 84.
He was born February 15, 1934 in the Town of Concord, New York a son of the late Louis and Hazel (nee Boberg) Ploetz. He was a dairy farmer, owning and operating his own dairy farm.
He was a member of the East Concord Fire Department for almost 50 years, a member of the Concord Horseshoe Pitching Association, was a co-founder of the Concord Crest Golf Course in East Concord and was a lifetime Missouri Synod Lutheran.
He is survived by his wife - Deborah A. (nee Jones) Ploetz whom he married September 25, 1954 in Springville; four sons - David K. (Deborah K.) Ploetz of Springville, Donald L. (Gail H.) Ploetz of Springville, Keith (Lori A.) Ploetz of Springville, Kevin R. (Connie A.) Ploetz of Collins; 11 grandchildren - Anneliese (Jordan) Plyler, Ryan (Jennifer) Ploetz, Christopher Ploetz, Trevor (Ashley) Ploetz, Michael Ploetz, Melanie (Dan Wright) Ploetz, Hayley Ploetz, Olivia (Nicholas) Froais, Heidi Ploetz, Alexia Ploetz and Cooper Ploetz; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson - Nolan Ploetz.
Friends may call Wednesday May 30, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 31, 2018 at 10 am in Salem Lutheran Church, 83 W. Main St., Springville.
