James Joseph Jermain of Springville, NY died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Hospice Buffalo, Inc. in Cheektowaga at the age of 82.
He was born April 25, 1935 in Fillmore, NY a son of the late Varius Q. and Gertrude M. (nee Smith) Jermain. He was a United States Army Veteran and served from 1958-1960. He enjoyed metal detecting, stock carts, go-carts, model planes and golfing.
He was a self-employed mechanic and ran his own business - JJ Small Engine Service in Springville.
Jim is survived by his wife - Carolyn (nee Baker) Jermain whom he married August 22, 1997 in Springville; his children: Jerald (Darcy) Jermain of Springville, James (Holly) Baker of Williamsville, Jeffrey (Cindy) Jermain of Hamburg; also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sons: John and Joseph Jermain; his brothers: Varius "Jerry" and Richard Jermain and a granddaughter.
Friends may call Friday, February 16, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
