Obituary for Robert Lloyd Hebden

Robert "Bob" Lloyd Hebden, of Genesee Rd., East Concord and of Springville, died Tuesday December 5, 2017 in Fiddler's Green Manor, Springville at the age of 85.

He was born November 15, 1932 in East Concord, New York; a son of the late Clarence William and Anna Helen (nee Schenk) Hebdon. He graduated from Springville-Griffith Institute in 1950, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Fredonia University, and earned a Master's Degree in School Administration from Buffalo State. He served in the U. S. Army from January 13, 1953 through January 6, 1955, serving 1 1/2 years in Korea.

Bob had his own tree farm, and as a youth, worked on various farms in the area. He was a School Teacher in Eden, Collins Center and Springville school districts until his retirement in June, 1989. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed running, hiking and had completed 12 marathons.

He is survived by his wife - Barbara (nee Ahrens) Hebden whom he married October 4, 1952 in Springville; children - Orpha (Charles) Gerundo of Florida, Jon (Carol) Hebden of Springville, Brian (Julie) Hebden of Springville, Eric (Ruth) Hebden of South Carolina; siblings - David (Jeanne Follman) Hebdon of Springville, Maurice Hebdon of Springville, Marsha (Paul) Carlson of Minnesota, Katherine (Victor) Mason of Minnesota; sisters-in-law - Georgette Hebdon of South Carolina, Barbara Hebdon of Arcade; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers - Earl and Kenneth Hebdon and a sister-in-law -Kathleen "Kitty" Hebdon.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Hulbert Library for the Town of Concord, 18 Chapel St., Springville, NY 14141.
