John B. Armatys, of Barse Rd., Little Valley, died Wednesday November 13, 2013 in Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home, Springville at the age of 84.
He was born December 27, 1928 in Buffalo a son of the late Bronislau and Agatha (nee Kulakowska) Armatys. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946-49 and was a member of St. Mary's Church in East Eden. He was a paint sprayer at Busch Industries in Little Valley and was a member of the AmVets in Ellicottville; American Legion Post #0659 in Ellicottville and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and being a pilot.
His wife Julianna (nee Szalasny) Armatys whom he married February 3, 1951 in St. Mary's Church, East Eden passed away in 2000.
He is survived by his daughter: Catharine (Robert) Schueler of Springville; two step-children: Stanley G. (Judy) Dylong of Bemus Point and Josephine Dylong of Springville; three brothers: Casey Armatys of Little Valley, Fred Armatys of Cheektowaga; Joseph Armatys of Lancaster; a sister: Sylvia Sikora of Cheektowaga; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; six step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a son - John B. Armatys, Jr. ; three brothers: Thaddeus, Walter and Bill Armatys and two sisters: Harriet Gulczawski and Emily Kasmierski.
