John E. Allan, of Springville-Boston Rd., East Concord, died October 30, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital at the age of 89.
He was born April 14, 1924 in Buffalo a son of the late John and Florence (nee Weigand) Allan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-46 and was a decorated World War II veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post #607, a 50 year member of the Springville and West Seneca Lions Clubs and had 72 years of dedicated service to the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member and Past Grand Marshall of Garden Lodge # 283 and a member of West Seneca Lodge #1111 F & A M. He also honorably served as Town Councilman and Town Supervisor for the Town of Concord.
He is survived by two sons: John Thomas (Connie) Allan of Springville and Mark E. (Denise) Allan of Wolcott, CT; a brother: Paul E. (Sue) Allan; a grandson: Robert Allan and several beloved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Marie (nee McCreery) Allan; and a grandson: Jason Allan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Springville Memorial Fund. Arrangements were completed by Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home, 271 E. Main St., Springville.
